Channel
From Nikonians Wiki
In digital photography, the red, green and blue values are collected and processed separately throughout the process, right up to the point that they are either converted to another colour mode, such as CMYK, or they are interpreted as colours by the eye of the viewer. They therefore each run in their own separate channel, which is the generic term for each colour component.
