Color Space

Perhaps the easiest way to explain what are Color Spaces is as defined portions of the full range of colors visible by the human eye
Color spaces do provide a reference between color as defined by scientific means (a color model with a mapping function) for image-editing purposes.
Specific Color Spaces have been defined in reference to specific uses and reproduction technologies:
The sRGB model specifies the colors that could be displayed in the average color monitor; this remains today the default color space used on the Web
The Adobe RGB model specifies the colors achievable by high-quality photo printers
The ProPhoto model specifies colors achievable by good quality cameras and photo printers.
Nikon has developed a series of color spaces to simplify your workflow while editing images on Capture NX2 for final use (mainly web display and printing)
