Dust removal

Dust removal generally refers to a group of selective enhancements to an image during postprocessing which remove faults introduced by dust on the lens, on the sensor, on the negative or print, if an image is being scanned, or by scratches to an optical element. Processes exist, such as Digital ICE and Nikon Capture's dust removal feature, for doing this automatically. Alternatively, dust can be removed with the healing brush or clone tools in Adobe Photoshop and similar applications.
