Near Hervey Bay in Queensland, Fraser Island is the largest sand island in the world. There are no roads on the island - hire a four-wheel-drive and book some accommodation. The wide beaches, inland lakes, rain forest and shipwrecks are all great photo opportunities.

Beware of dingos - they look like domestic dogs are but are wild, and have been known to attack people.

Because this is a sand island, take special care of your gear. Camping out is not recommended - rent a cottage or lodge accommodation.
