Mercury vapour lighting is an industrial lighting type typically found in street-lights, in heavy plant, and in some gyms. The light is deeply orange in colour, to the extent that even the human eye struggles to adjust to it, and sees an orange cast in many situations. Automatic white balance will rarely compensate for mercury vapour lighting, and it is best to preset white balance in some way.
