The Nikonians Academy continues to do its credit card clearing in Germany, our home base, because it has been extremely difficult to obtain a merchant account in the USA for our USA company serving our USA members. Nevertheless, we keep working on it.
The practice of charging a foreign transaction fee has been extending worldwide since the precipitous devaluation of the US dollar in 2008.
Some USA banks are now making charges for foreign transaction handling, largely due to the above mentioned devaluation of the US dollar versus the EURO. We have known though of cases where these charges are reversed after customers' complaints. Sorry for the inconvenience.
