Here are some of the historical Nikon Flash units worth mentioning since they have played a big role in the companies history.

  • SB-1 The first Nikon Speedlight, introduced in the 1960's.
  • SB-12 This is the Nikon F3 flash unit, designed for use with this great SLR and introduced together with the F3 back in 1980. It is the first Nikon Speedlight to introduce automatic TTL in combination with the manual mode. On other cameras than the F3 only manual mode works.
