Laser printer
From Nikonians Wiki
A laser printer is a fast, low-cost per copy digital printer, which uses a laser to transfer toner onto paper. Laser printers are typically half-tone devices, which means that they cannot equal of the quality of inkjet printers for photography. Laser toner is, however, waterproof, and much more robust than inkjet. This, combined with its speed and low cost per copy, makes the laser printer the most common kind of printer for offices and commercial applications.
Laser printers operate either on Hewlett Packard's PCL language, or on Adobe's Postscript, or are able to interpret both. For desktop publishing, Postscript is generally required.
