Nikon D3

Announced in 2007, and generally available Winter 2007/Spring 2008, the D3 was Nikon's first FX or 'full-frame' camera.
It was characterised by
- 12.1 MP FX sensor
- Pro-style body with integral vertical shutter release, weather-proofing and metal frame
- dual CF card slots
- 51 point autofocus
- Extremely rapid firing, at 9 fps, or 11 fps in DX crop mode
- 25600 maximum ISO equivalent sensitivity, a figure previously unheard of
- extremely good noise performance up to ISO 6400
- EXPEED in-camera technology, including active D-lighting
- Live-view
and numerous other refinements such as HDMI video output and a virtual horizon.
