Private message
From Nikonians Wiki
The Private Message system (also known as "PM") allows members to communicate between each other through the Nikonians platform without sending emails. Messages received from other members are stored in the inbox.
You send a PM to another member by e.g.
- In the forums when viewing a topic/forum post: On the left hand side, under the image/avatar of the member, click on the small chat bubble icon with a lock pad in it
- In the member profile when viewing a members profile, click on the corresponding link in the top area
When you have a new PM waiting for you, a notification text will be shown in red color in the top right corner of the forums.
Please note the following:
- Sent messages are not stored or archived in any way, only received messages are stored.
- Only members on Silver membership or higher can send private messages. Any member can receive messages.
- When you send a PM the receiver will, in addition to the message being stored in the members inbox, get an email notification that a PM awaits. This email will though contain the full message as well. If the member now replies to this email via email, the reply will go to your email address and not show up as a PM at Nikonians, since your email address is set in the "REPLY TO" field of the email.
