Together with the SB-600, the Nikon SB-800 AF is the Nikon Speedlight generation of electronic flash systems that were provided prior to the appearance of the Nikon SB 900. It uses the Nikon Creative Lighting System (CLS). Some brief technical data:

  • Guide Number: 38/125 (at 35mm) to 56/184 (at 105mm) (ISO 100, m/ft.)
  • Lens coverage: 24-105mm (Auto Mode), 14mm with Fusion Dome
  • Recycling time: From 2.7s (1.2V Ni-MH) to 6.0s (Lithium 1.5V)
