Subject
From Nikonians Wiki
The subject is 'what the picture is about'.
It has a specific meaning in particular fields
- In portrait photography the subject is the sitter
- In model photography, the model is the subject
- In product photography, the product is the subject
The subject is not necessary the dominant interest. For example, a standard technique in landscape photography is to place an object in the foreground, which becomes the dominant interest, with the purpose of bringing the viewer into the image. The subject, however, is the landscape itself.
