What are "Ribbons"?
From Nikonians Wiki
Ribbons are now awarded to Nikonians members, to share recognition with others in appreciation for their continuous friendly support to members, skills and technical knowledge, outstanding contributions to the Nikonians community and photography achievements.
There are (5) qualifying Ribbons that can be awarded to members by the Administrators at any time. Here is a list outlining the descriptions of each ribbon available.
1.) Where can I see who has been awarded a Ribbon?
There are multiple ways to see who has been awarded a ribbon and why.
i) In the forums section, each Topic discussed has a Poster username attached to it, and you can view the ribbon instantly in the forum section of your choice, next to the Username in view or the Topic itself, once it is opened.
ii) If there is a particular member you are fond of following, you can simply type in their username in the search field to view their profile and select the “Awards Tab” to see the ribbon and a personalized brief description of the why for their ribbon awarded.
2.) How can I be acknowledged, and then awarded a ribbon, I feel like I’ve mastered the Art and Science of Photography, and contributed highly to the community? At the present time, our Administrators/Moderators award ribbons by keeping in the loop of all of what takes place in the community. Keep your persistence in your posts, being a recommended member helps, and that your facts and knowledge are solid and displayed with a friendly and positive light.
3.) Is there room to be awarded more ribbons, even after having already achieved one? Yes, A member can have at this time up to five (one of each) of the listed ribbons above.
4.) Do ribbons ever expire? No, ribbons do not expire, they are awarded to you for your excellence in the community, making our motto a living reality: share, learn, and inspire in a friendly and creative atmosphere.
