Annotate-Cropping
From Nikonians Wiki
You may want to really crop the image, not merely include a virtual crop. This may be the case for screenshots, to annotate e.g. a single application window.
To crop an image, go to “Crop” tab and then click and drag to create a crop while holding down Ctrl key. A green checkmark then appears.
Annotate! offers you to perform a “Real crop” by opening only a portion of the image for annotation after you have created a crop while holding down Ctrl key.
After you click the green checkmark icon, Annotate! loads a new image containing only the cropped area. When annotating screenshots, you can save the screenshots under a new name by pressing Ctrl + S or clicking the save icon (disk icon) on the left. A file name selection dialog then appears, allowing you to choose the file name to save your annotated screenshot.
