Annotate-How to run
From Nikonians Wiki
Starting the application
When you open Annotate! for the first time, it will ask you to enter your full name and your Nikonians username. If you are not registered with Nikonians.org yet, this is a good time to do so. It is simple and will only take 30 seconds :-). You can fill your full name, e- mail address and desired username directly in Annotate! and the values will be prefilled after you click on “Create account at Nikonians.org” link.
When you start Annotate! you can enter your full name and optionally your Nikonians username. Annotate can also remember your email address for later, if you would like to send annotated images to your friends via email. If you are not a Nikonians member, you can also register now. This is however optional and you can use Annotate even if you are not a Nikonians member.
It is optional to register with Nikonians. You can use Annotate! without a Nikonians account.
Annotate welcome screen
Annotate! displays a welcome screen after it is started. You will also see this screen every time Annotate updates to a new version. You can read the list of new features in each Annotate version in the welcome screen. To start using Annotate!, just click “Start Annotate!” on this screen. If you do not wish to see this screen each time you start the application, just uncheck the “Display this screen at startup” box.
When the application has started, you can open a file, either by “drag & drop” of an image onto the program, by clicking the “Browse” tab and selecting your image from your local disk, pressing “Browse” button in the browse tab or by pressing CTRL + O.
You can paste image from clipboard by pressing Ctrl + V. You can also annotate a screenshot from tray (see image below) or by pressing Print Screen and Ctrl + V sequentially when running Annotate.
Drag & Drop
You can drag and drop images onto the program’s working screen directly from your file system or from your favorite browser. You can drop an image from Nikonians’ forums or galleries onto Annotate! And it will open the image. Annotate! supports drag & drop from Microsoft Internet Explorer (limitations may apply under Vista and Windows 7), Mozilla Firefox (up to 3.5.5) and Google Chrome.
