Breathing or Focus Breathing, occurs when a lens tends to change its true focal length at closer distances. For example, a 70-200mm lens, zoomed to 200mm, when focused at longer distances it is a 200mm lens. However, when focused at very close range distances may only truly have a 146mm focal length. That changes the field of view and may alter your composition. Big problem? No. Just get to learn how your lens behaves to arrange the composition. Videographers tend to complain more about his lens behavior than still photographers.
